Sometimes when attempting to platesolve a sequence, the option at the bottom of the platesolving dialog to register platesolved images is missing. Is this a bug, or what conditions cause this to appear/disappear? Didn’t see anything in the manual about the option disappearing.
The sequence in question is all undebayered, calibrated FITs converted from Nikon RAW (NEF) files. I’ve been able to platesolve-register similar sequences using this build. Tried remaking the sequence from scratch, didn’t help. Tried restarting Siril, didn’t help.
The “Use as registration information” checkbox and text are missing. The Skip… and Fetch… boxes and text are moved up one row. I’m in the middle of processing something else ATM but I’ll get you a screenshot.
Can you double check that you are using one fit per sub and not one fit per sequence (that is a fitseq)? Because the name of the file displayed in your snapshot pp_240412_tadpole_0.fit would normally be the name of an image in a fitseq file. Whenyou have a file per sub, images are numbered from 1 and it would be pp_240412_tadpole_00001.fit.
That would also explain why you don’t see the use as registration option (this mode is not enabled for fitseq or SER).
cissou8 - I stopped using fitseqs about a year ago when I had some problems with them, I only use one-fit-per-sub sequences now. However, the frame numbering for this sequence matches the fitseq scheme, and looking at the actual files in the OS, I don’t see a bunch of pp_ fits.
I’ll try remaking this sequence and another one that’s having the same issue. Makes me wonder if there’s actually a different issue here, i.e. Siril is converting to fitseq when I’m telling it to use fits?
edit - Calibration tab is set to make fits, not a fitseq. The console messages confirm it’s making fits this time.
Alright, well, I made new sequences (again) for the projects I had problems with, making sure that they were fits, not fitseqs. Both behaved as expected and I was able to register them with platesolving. I’m not sure how they ended up as fitseqs in the first place, but since I can’t reproduce the problem I can’t rule out user error.
If I do catch Siril making fitseqs when I asked for fits I’ll let you know. Thanks for your time, appreciate it.
