7Artisans 4mm fisheye view in Brisbane

Did not want to hijack the showcase thread of @Ofnuts https://discuss.pixls.us/t/having-way-too-much-fun-with-a-laowa-4mm-fisheye-hot-from-the-mailbox/53462 so herewith a collection of my first day’s outing with my own similar lens (different branding on same lens, I think)

Evoking the fish-eye name - or equally, like a space-helmet with visor partially up:

The circular architecture of the Star casino complex lends itself well to this lens:

Which transportation grabs you? Observation wheel or e-scooter?

The stairway into the heavens (or at least - to the Star)

More to come …

Hi Martin, can you put a picture of your lens on here. I am interested if it is the same. I bought the laowa 4mm lens. It arrived today. I haven’t taken any serious shots with it yet.

Micro 4/3 mount, 4mm f/2.8 branded 7Artisans

Sorry … my bad - looks different; I think I went down a rabbit hole looking over the fish list to find a circular fisheye that matched one of the mounts I shoot (Nikon-F and MFT) … and this is the only such one that I could find available online at the time, which probably means I searched inadequately.

Hello Martin,

Nice and funny photos!
Perfect pictures as well to try the relatively new “defish” filter in RawTherapee.
Gives this. :upside_down_face:

I am sure the 7 Artisans lens is as much fun as the Laowa and I won’t even try and find out which is the best value or the sharpest. They both look a fun and quirky lens. Enjoy.

Yes, many things look sci-fi through a fisheye…

Thanks for sharing, love those photos and colours :-)!
