Very nice (and a bit creepy!). The grasshopper photo has a very interesting frame & crop to it.

For the common frog photo, you might consider desaturating the bokeh or changing the color, as I find it to be too similar to the color of the frog.

Nice!
It seems to be snake season - yesterday while running I almost jumped on a grass snake.

The forest photo has clipped highlights which are not white, which makes it look a bit murky. Was that intentional? http://i.imgur.com/89lBbSr.jpg

Interesting photos. How did you take the slow worm ones? - I thought they made a hasty exit once they realised you were nearby?

Thanks!

I just gave it a go, not sure if i like it. It looks that it reduces the tonality of the overal image when i try that.

But ofcourse you are free to give it a go

Thanks! Still haven’t managed to find a snake here in .nl. The slow worm is the closest to a snake sofar (but is a limbless lizard)

Not intentional, hadden’t even noticed it. I did push the exposure a bit to make it a bit brighter as it was very darkish, and had no tripod with me to create a multi exposure shot.

Thanks! I found the slow worm under a log. I always peek under logs as they are favourite hiding spots of toads, newts and this slow worm. It is a juvenile one, it might not realised what was happening. I hold it in my hand for a couple of minutes before it decided it had enough and slithered away. The last shot was taken whilst holding it. Had it in my right hand and had to focus+shoot with left. Not the easiest to do with a dslr

Can’t say for sure without knowing your settings, but I would guess that its your highlight preservation tool settings (Highlight Compression if you used RawTherapee) which are a little too strong and lead to that.
