accidently "select only new images" switched off on import

so, i accidentally switched off “select only new images” during import…from a 512 GB card that was almost full but still contained images from a previous shoot.

so, i’m stuck with lots of duplicates, in two different filmroles and I had (YEAR)(MONTH)(DAY)_(SEQUENCE).$(FILE_EXTENSION) in the import settings so the raws got renamed.

what is a good way to delete the dups from darktable? (i know how to do this at disk level outside dt)

I am wondering if they are in two different film rolls if you could select all the images in the second film roll and delete them all. Then you could reimport only the new images. This suggestion presumes no editing done and that the images are still on the camera’s card.

yes, that is one option. I did some editing, but nothing that could not be repeated quickly

Under ‘collections’ select importtime. Go to the subsequent import. And remove al pics prior to the last session.
