An easy way to "factory reset" the darktable lighttable catalogue?

I’m having a few issues with images that appear to be missing from my photo storage external drive (skull image) in Lighttable view. I was wondering if I could remove a darkroom file/directory in order to get darktable to ‘forget’ the existing catalogue and then reimport my photos from a freshly copied external drive?

I understand I could use the purge_non_existing_images.sh script but I think the images still exist in some cases.

Happy to hear of other solutions if there isn’t anything simple!

Cheers,

John

You can rename library.db, but that’ll reset a lot of things

With the new development version it no longer resets things, so tags, styles and presets will be kept. That won’t be available for regular users until 2.2 is released though.

About purge_non_existing_images.sh, that only removes entries from darktable’s library, it doesn’t delete files on disk. So it should be safe to run in your case.
