any similar to Photo Reactor?

Hey beloved colleagues, a question for you.
I’ve been studying about Hald Cluts, its behavior and creation, although we can find and download for free I still believe it’s a bit limited and I would like to produce my owns.

By searching I’ve found Photo Reactor (Photo Reactor, image editing and effect creation), which unfortunately it’s paid.

Anyone here can or even know an open source software for CLUT creation/developing ?

A hald clut is a PNG file. You can load it in any editor and apply the changes you want, then save it, and you have a lut.

How is a HALDclut edited, e.g. in RawTherapee?

Is an identity HALDclut required?

You’d edit a reference image to your liking, save a pp3, then apply that pp3 to the HALD Clut identity image, then save it. Then you have a HALD Clut.

Toyed and actually purchased PR a few years back but since my PC crashed and I’ve not used it. Node editing, imo, is the future and have ran across various specialy programs that implemented this as well as used node editing programs even earlier (Mathmap has this ability). GIMP 3.x supposedly has this ability but don’t believe they ever pursued this. Node editing makes creating personalized filters child’s play, imo. In a past life, used Engineering tools that also used node editing for programming workflow. Hopefully, they will allow this to come to fruition in GIMP 3.x. :slight_smile:
