Are the original picture staying in the original map after import?

I used Aperture. Is it possible to let the imported pictures in their original map on HD?`Otherwise I have 3000 in Darktable and 3000 on HD or my Stack/cloud.

With map, do you mean directory? Yes, import them without copying. You won’t be able to use cloud storage directly.

Thank You Kofa, indeed it is a directory (partly directories in my stack=cloud, partly on the disk and partly on an external HD. Where do i can choose for import without copying? I can not find it; not in the manual.

add to library
Add existing images to the darktable library without copying or moving files. If you only add a single image to the library it will be automatically loaded in the darkroom.
copy & import
Create copies of images from the filesystem and then add those copies to the darktable library.
(darktable 4.9 user manual - import)

Also:

The “add to library” button allows you to add one or more existing images to the darktable library from the local filesystem. This process does not copy or move images but merely adds their details to the library database and creates XMP sidecar files for them.
(darktable 4.9 user manual - import)

Thanks again Kofa, i am going tor do the last version and if happens I like i reply again.
