Yesterday, I took a long walk in the German-Austrian border area. It was foggy throughout, when suddenly these ruins appeared before me. They are the Plainburg:
I don’t have much experience with foggy pictures yet. What would you do with this picture?

Awesome picture. So much mood. I think you can turn this any way you want but I tried to make it look like a murder mystery movie from 1950. Even so I tried very hard to deteriorate the image quality it still has beautiful depth and “character” (please exchange with a better word if have one).
That way the “thing” on the wall could maybe be something human … you never know.
For my tastes, you did a wonderful job on the edit. I can’t think of anything I would want to do different. Love the tones.
But OOOF! That jpg is 12MB…
Thank you, and yes right, I forgot to lower quality to 90% or less 
I wasn’t sure what I could do differently with this edit, so I just used AgX in DT 5.3 to see how it handled the foggy scene. The auto pickers gave the result you see.

Very nice, similar to the style of my photography.
Many ways to do this depending on what your aim is.
I assumed you may wanted, more fog!?
@Popanz A bit of a hallowed glow you have there. Also a missed opportunity not to incorporate your ghastly profile picture in the image.

Here is my suggestion. I have tried to add a little colour while maintaining the atmosphere of a misty evening.
I looked for it but could not find it in all the fog.
