I use micro 4/3 camera (4:3 aspect ratio), but shoot in 3:2 (135) ratio in mind. I wanted to add “crop” module to my default set but it always works horizontally by default. I don’t see any “as image” orientation option, either in module itself or in user’s manual. Also “applly to matching images” option for preset, doesn’t icnlude EXIF orientation mark.
(I only see option to apply only for specifed camera model, so when I will buy DSLR, DT will not apply 3:2 crop to already 3:2 images (good news).)
As a result I get 2/3 of every vertical shot being cut off, thus DT showing me “how did I compose that crappy photo?” images.
Only half of vertical/portrait shots I would like to leave in 3:4 ratio (some are “too high/slim” in 2:3, or made to stick in to panoramic).
Not having automatic crop, would force me to manually turn croppping on for wvery image separately. And problem with 5% images would move to the rest 95% of images - not funny So now I have Crop and Rotate module turned on by default, set to 3:2 ratio and with 5,64% top and bottom margins, and have to click “anticlockwise” icon for every vertical shot.
Is there a way to apply a crop in image’s orientation by default? Or (also nice option) only to horizontal oriented images?
