automatic creation of folders when importing

Hi, I do not find any options in digiKam for importing photos into folders whose name is derived form the date the photo was taken. Is this possible in digiKam?

I’d like to revive this since I am having the same issue. I followed the advanced import options, but it only creates a folder for the day I’m importing, not the day the photo was taken. What am I missing here?

In the digiKam settings under Camera-> Behavior activate the reading of metadata (makes the connection slower). Then the correct folder date will be created.
