I am using 5.1.0+570~g230b1df204-dirty on macOS and when I export to avif lossy there is no camera relate metadata. where if I convert a png, jpg etc to avif using libheif heir-enc it writes all metadata.
Can anyone confirm that this is a bug or I am only having this problem
Did you read the release notes ?
When exporting to AVIF, EXR, JPEG XL, or XCF, selecting specific metadata (e.g. geo-tag or creator) is not currently possible. For AVIF, EXR, JPEG XL, and XCF formats, darktable will not include any metadata fields unless the user selects all of the checkboxes in the export module’s preference options.
They are all checked my other export in other formats displays it

Someone please export an image in avif from Darktable and see if metadeta is preset and reply here.

Please apply some.compression to your screenshot next time… 10.8 MB is a ridiculous size.
The confusion was about Private tags, synonyms, omit hierarchy and hierarchical tags. as all of them were shown as a subset of tags which was ticked I assume that normal tags like exposure, iso,fstop etc. will be included.
It is quite simple, all means all.
