I am struggling with this image, and others in the series. Technically the top version is more accurate, it was strong, direct afternoon sunlight. I prefer the top version, and it looks good on my monitor, but does not translate well to phones and smaller screens, the flower just looks like an overexposed blob, when it isn’t the case at all when seen big on a decent screen.

Open to ideas

Wow – that is a very nice UFO, Nuno!
Much sharper than those appearing up here.

I changed screens and just noticed my edits in the OP are extremely overcooked

This is a lovely pic, and interesting to edit. I’ve ended up with a darker, ‘keep detail in the flower’ look. Might be better with the brighter, more colourful greens?
AgX settings went a bit wild with the blue purity, and then I remembered I wanted to edit this for sRGB, and not Display P3, so I had a little more work getting the flower nicely saturated. (Blue channel does not wanna stay above 0 in this one!)
Tried to add a little blur to soften that background flower further.

And if you swing green reverse rotation into the blue side, you get a dramatic bee!

(Only change here is green reverse rotation at -27 degrees)

Edit: Different approach and white balance:

Thanks for all your edits. I keep working on it as well

I actually like the OP shots a bit better, although the saturation is indeed quite strong. Maybe the screen I use make me see them quite different than you… The color science rabbit hole

Yeah, the screen I edited them on has a large gamut, it didn’t look that saturated on it, but when I checked on my dell IPS and mobile phone, it looks very overcooked

I agree, especially when you let your eyes rest and come back to the photos after a few minutes

Extracted and enhanced bee on transparancy. Just an exercise; not sure what I would do with the lonely be, yet. lol

Is it perfect; no.
