Question: why is there a door and latch[1]? How do birds go in and out?

That’s the back side. The clean-out hole. The sewer system.

I have plenty of shots of birds going in and out of the front door. But the round door on the back reminded me of a Hobbit house, so I got interested in that.

I’d love to see an extreme edit that looks like it came from The Hobbit / Lord of the Rings.

I assumed one hole would be sufficient, since it wouldn’t be in use during the clean up.

The bird hole is much smaller. The fancy birdhouse has room to almost fit your hand inside.

Makes sense: my instinct was having the roof or bottom come off for the clean up. Interesting that you choose to show the back instead of the front.
