Boardwalk Before Dawn

Was down at the waterfront shooting a subject at basically “sunrise” at this time of year. Took this shot on a whim while waiting for my subject to get in a better position. Ended up really enjoying the editing of this one, especially for playing around with denoising factors.

Looks like we were thinking along the same lines, kap. I love what you’ve done with the sky, though. That’s clearly superior.

Ooh I like this. You managed to get separate the background mountains from the sky, which is something I was struggling to do. Nice!

Thanks - it’s all in the XMP. Just made mask for 2nd instance of exposure and then used the same mask in sharpening module.

Nice shot! Where are you to have those awesome mountains in the background?

For me it is sacrilege to get rid of the beautiful blue light. WB was retained to as shot in camera.

I found this part of the fun/challenge with this image. The blue light absolutely reflects when this got taken, but I ended up really enjoying the edit when it ended up getting neutralized. I had tried to add a bit of the blue light back to my initial edit, but I think I’m going to take another stab it it

Pacific Northwest. This was taken stateside, but I believe the mountains are in a Canadian mountain range.
