Butterflies in the tree

I saw Monarch butterflies gathering on the tree. Goal was to get as many butterflies as I can fit in one shot. I also tried playing with techniques demonstrated by @s7habo in his videos and reduce intensity of green to bring out more color of butterflies. Of course my images look much unflattering than his excellent work.

Sideline question, when taking this kind of picture are there any other techniques I should try to get a better picture.

Tricky problem!
My play in GIMP. I selected by colour the butterflies and brightened them a little as well as inverting the selection and subduing the background.

I think it may achieve more visual impact by a crop, even though some of the butterflies are lost.

Desaturated the green to try and help the orange pop.

dt 4.2.1. I didn’t mess much with the colors, I think they look pretty good as-is.
