Can images be given a star or color rating during export in Darktable

I work through folders containing hundreds of images and would find it easier for me to keep track of where I am if I could as part of the export module add either a color or star rating as part of my export preset. I use the lua script to save the files the collection already.

This is probably not a big deal to other users so I am reluctant to put a feature request in for something most people would consider trivial or frivolous.

I recently thought that it would be nice if the export settings would be stored as metadata. For example, I have an export to piwigo and currently always tag these photos manually that I have exported them into the gallery.

Darktable adds a tag when an image is exported.

Yes, but not with which setting etc… it would be nice to control which tag is set.

If you know the tags you want to apply, you likely can create a style to apply with the export. I havent try this.

Like this?

No not the modules that were used in the edit, it would be great if I would know with which export preset I have exported, for example, to my piwigo instance, to a file etc…
I guess that could be generalized to add any kind of metadata on export, not only tags but also rating, color tag etc…

I doubt you can do that with a style, which is a bunch of (darkroom processing) modules and their settings.
