Every time I restart RawTherapee I have to remember and manually reset the indicators for shadow and highlight clipping.
This is annoying, because I rely on that indication, and if an image has fairly low contrast I might not realize it’s off and go ahead and edit the histogram, get no clipping, and only then realize the setting was off.

Are you referring to this setting in preferences? It should stay between sessions.
Those are the threshold values, yes, but clipping is not shown on the image I’m working on when starting up the program unless I click on the two buttons in the toolbar on the top (or use the “<” and “>” keyboard shortcuts) every single time.
There’s no option to save the status of the clipping indicators, but you are welcome to submit a feature request on GitHub.
