Cannot find camera on Linux [solved]

Hello,
I am new to darktable and raw editing and I have an issue with my Linux version. I have 3.8.0 (flatpak) on Linux Mint 19.3 and 3.8.0.dmg on my Mac. On my Mac I can find my lens and camera but not on my Linux. It is a Canon EOS 850D with EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM. Do I have to do something myself or are the versions different?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Can you navigate to the Lensfun folder in Flatpak?

The flatpak should ship with relatively recent lensfun profiles. Can you provide a raw file to test?

Yes, lensfun/version_1? xml files

I am using the same raw file on both computers, .CR3

You may have a couple of Lensfun folders.

For example at usr/share/lensfun/version_1 or /var/lib/lensfun-updates/version_1 or /.local/share/lensfun and perhaps one more folder that Flatpak installed.

Open slr-canon.xml and check if you find your camera model and lens there.

Thanks, it is not there on Linux and I have not yet found it on Mac

For theac version, I think @MStraeten has been cherry picking some newer canon lens profiles. Perhaps he can comment.

Is it possible to copy the xml file from Mac (if I find it) or is it more complicated?

Yes, or just cherry-pick the lens and the camera from https://github.com/lensfun/lensfun/blob/master/data/db/slr-canon.xml

have a look at /Applications/darktable.app/Contents/Resources/share/lensfun/version_1/ on your mac

Thank you so much, I am lost on Macs.
