Monday morning hummingbird. I’ll usually take a few shots of them when I drop my mother in law off at her sisters place. I typically drive her there as it’s on the way to work.
These hummingbird are almost always frequenting the feeder outside the back deck… So almost every week I try to get them.
This one worked out ok, but I think I should have stopped down the appetite aperture a bit more to get more of the critter in focus.

Shot with a Minolta 28-135 at somewhere between 120 and 135mm.
Edited in DT 5.4.

From Reviews:
The rf100-500 is better than the rf100-400. But you must be sure to pay five times the price…

I like it a lot because it is so lightweight. There is basically no reason not to take it on a trip. Yes, the optical quality is not the best but in this case it is either “no shot at 400mm” vs “having a shot at 400mm”

I was tracking it on an ads-b map, but got distracted and missed the cue to go to the roof, so only managed to get a shot from behind  KC-390

I have tried for years to get such an image. Hundreds of fotos. Uncounted hours of developing. Blood, sweat and tears. Now I should resist to repeat it - I think I won’t be happy.
Although I’d like to have one in three-quarter front view.

Oops - I did it again…
