Dunno about this one, but “Focal” (if that’s its brand name) used to be a house brand at K-mart discount stores years ago… No idea who actually made the stuff, though.

Yeah, I believe that’s the one… I can find it currently on ebay for $25 cdn.

I saw this palette below a pile of branches/twigs on walk through our local vineyard and thought it might make a nice gloomy image.

Side question: I couldn’t find a satisfying translation for the German “Weinberg” yet (literally “wine hill”). Where I live, grapes for wine are almost always grown on slopes of hills as only there they get enough sun. When translating to “vineyard” it seems to me that the hilly aspect is lost. Is there a specific term in English to distinguish a vineyard on a hill from one in flat land?

Could you please solve the puzzle?
Which spezies is this?

And by the way: very nice shots

It is a ruddy turnstone (Arenaria interpres).

Was my first guess, but: the colour of the legs confused me. A young one?

Is the orange not strong enough? May only be the light. There were several animals and on most images the legs appear quite colorful. Don’t know what’s “wrong” with this one.

On looking for duplicates in my images, I found this. I thought that it might interest some here:
