[Capture Challenge] Charge your battery and take some photos

Went out this morning for the first time (locally, at home) in quite a while. Wasn’t sure what or where I was going to do or go, so I had a look outside and tried to chase some mist up to one of my favourite areas.
I’m still not quite used to using this camera body, but what I have shot with it so far I’ve been really happy with. Here’s a few of the ones that I’ve done some work on.
One thing I will say is that add long as I can get a decent focus and depth of field… The potential for cropping in post is awesome. I’ll try to get play raw up that illustrates that.

Love the aesthetics, looks like the cover a sci-fi pulp magazine.

Unimaginatively spent yesterday at an air show. Brought back some sunburns and 2868 shots, so culling is going to be protracted. But it looks promising:

Went out with $youngest today, both shot some pictures, I gently introduced him to DT (at age 6, gotta start 'em early). Finally shot some stuff myself again, too, some of it even keepers.

Asked a biologist friend, and he told me that this looked like a cute hoverfly. Many species are mimics of wasps and bees, albeit harmless to most mammals[1], which explains the stripes on the body. Interesting!

That blue-winged beastie looks magical!

They are very cute, a bit hard to photograph as they roll around the leaves to hide from you, and jump away at the slightest harsh movement  But overall very doable even for a macro noob like myself

Nice.
But: mushrooms? Was there rain?

there was rain recently and today a lot of rain and this is a place that seems extremly suitable for mushrooms which is why i went there

Had to charge the battery after taking the photos; I’ve finally managed to get the DSLR all the way to empty.

Nearby forest, windy, threat of rain that I did not want to be in, so slightly hurried. Autumn is coming.

A shoe with a sock in it plus some other clothing? Let’s hope no one was the victim of a crime here?

I doubt it, this was not so much left as displayed. There were flowers as well, although they are mostly wilted, now.

Maybe a memorial of sorts?
