[Capture Challenge] Charge your battery and take some photos

100% agree on the milk. In past times I’d get to the point where I was already feeling sick and think, well, I’ll only eat them later anyway. Anticipating my wife’s stern look at home when I’m eyeing the cookie section in the local shop has its uses.

So what kind of container does a gallon of milk come in… here (Australia) the biggest you can buy is a 3 litre plastic bottle. A gallon’s around 4 litre (looked it up - actually 3.79). A bigger plastic bottle?

Usually something like this. Some have screw caps, others snap-on. We rarely buy in gallons anymore, but even the half-gallon jugs make good “ice jugs”. We wash them out, fill with water and put in the bottom of our chest freezer. Not only do we have ice when we need it (e.g., picnics, etc.*) but if the power goes out they help keep the freezer cold longer.

* When you need the ice, before taking the cap off beat the bottle against a concrete floor. Then you can almost pour the crushed ice out.

It snowed all night. This ‘dawn’ (well, not quite, but the Sun is getting up later and later), from the balcony:

I constantly sing the praises of Ian Burnett, the Highland Chocolatier (whose truffles have, once again, been voted the best in the world).

The café does an excellent, gluten-free brownie (replacing flour by ground almonds). Here is his recipe for dark chocolate and whisky brownies.

Me too.
It’s in Canberra, a new line that’s been slowly going up across the city. Apparently, a primary reason for it is actually to ensure continous power (and lots of it I guess) to a new ADF (Australian Defence Force) cyber-security (or whatever the word is) facility being built.

Canberra being our capital has quite a bit of that kind of thing…

Sunset on the Uetliberg in the first snow of the season. Later I’ll post some that I took prior to the actual sunset, if you want.

I found these in Limone sul Garda in Italy, these offered an incredible view, I couldn’t sit still occupied.

I especially like the last but one - wonderful colours and tantalizing glimpses of the interior.

And reclining ones at that!

Dunno, but I haven’t come across any myself. I really like them, actaully – it would be nice to have a sit down on something without some stoopid idiot with a skateboard jumping off the other end of it.

Nice shot, BTW.
