Darkatble/GIMP problem (link/conflict?)

Mayday…I dot mainly between GIMP and Darktable with a dash of Irfanview.

I gather GIMP uses a darktable plugin to open NEF files? Well, all of a sudden, instead of quietly doing it’s stuff in GIMP it goes to that image in the darkrrom part of darktable.

Another new oddness I noticed this mornign is a refusal to actually rescale files, even in Irfanview…it SAYS it has scaled to A4 size but when you go to 100%view it is clealrly still way larger…might that be linked?

Hope I haven’t got a virus…any ideas on what to do?

Un-install one or all? In which case which first?

PS My PC runs Windows 10, please don’t tell me it’s the worst thing I could do even if it is :slight_smile:

What changed recently?

Previously, GIMP could open NEF files without trouble. I can’t think of any settings I’ve changed, but now you get the error message above but the file does open in darktable (if that is open), going straight to darkroom as a single image.
Have just tried with darktable closed and it now automatically opens darktable and shows the image. ETA it does that without showing the error message!

Haven’t tried the re-sizing problem this morning, will do in a bit.
