I am running darktable 2.6.2 on Win10. I have raw files from several of the cameras I have used over the years and have been able to open them in darktable. Today I tried to open a Panasonic TX1 (ZS100, TX100, etc. outside Japan) raw, but it gives me this message:
failed to read camera white balance information from ‘P1000555.RW2’!
At this point darktable hangs and I can’t do anything with it except to kill it. Any ideas?
I have tried more than one raw from the camera. All of them open okay with Photoshop CC ACR.

Can you share the file?
I’ll see if it works for me!

Yes, I can send you a raw file. Can an email handle it? The raw files are about 23mb.

Just drop the raw file into the editor window here and it’ll upload to the forum.

Okay, here is a Panasonic TX1 raw file.
P1000555.RW2 (22.5 MB)
With my installation of Darktable 2.6.2 in Windows 10 it does not read the file (with a “cannot read the white balance” of the file error).
Converted to dng with Adobe converter and it reads without a problem.

On 2.7 Git on Linux it gives the same error. But darktable does not then hang.

Updating dt may be a good idea, you are using a very old version. Yesterday 3.2.1 has been released.

And please upload sample files to: https://raw.pixls.us/
It looks like Nikon Z50 files are missing there.

I’ve installed 3.2.1 and everything is working now. Thanks.
