I’m using Darktable 3.4 compiled from source a few days ago. Mint Linux Tessa. I like the GUI changes.
I’m having trouble with haze removal. The displayed image appears as below unless I set distance to zero. And then the module has no effect.
So far everything else is great. Am I imagining it? Exports seem faster than before.

This is a bug that has already been reported:
opened 04:34AM - 22 Dec 20 UTC
closed 11:31AM - 23 Dec 20 UTC
bug: pending
priority: high
scope: image processing
WSL Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS
Master : darktable 3.5.0+111~g3cca160f9
Compressed hi… story to original.
Activate Haze module.
Image goes black.

Any image that was previously edited and has an active haze module in it, it goes black. Disabling it returns it to normalcy.
Problem is most visible with haze, but can cause problems/crashes with tone equalizer, bloom, soften, highpass and anything relying on dt_box_.

Before you start rebuilding make sure to check the link that @priort posted to see if this PR has been merged. At the moment of me writing this its status is open and Pascal, aka TurboGit, hasn’t merged it yet.
EDIT: They hit a snag and this one isn’t currently fixed.
EDIT2: They fixed it. Sollution (#7411 ) is also merged already.

@pittendrigh - Instead of “master” try to use 3.4 branch. That doesn’t have haze removal enhancement It seems like the bug is complex so the issue might not be fixed for a couple of days.

It’s fixed, as of Dec 24th. This morning. I just cloned and recompiled and all is well. Thank you developers. Darktable is a life style advance.
