I have a question when a translation in Czech will be available for Darktable 3.8.1. Some time has passed since Release 3.8.0. Thank you. Otherwise, Darktable is cool.
when contributors helped to translate it
Currently it has about 36 strings missing so it’s good to go in the next release. In darktable it goes that way - if the translation has more than allowed missing translations it’s thrown away entirely. That’s how I came to help maintain polish translation - It was there, than missing so I digged into it.
If You want You can already download the translation from github and add it to Your darktable installation and not wait for the next release.
You simply copy the content, make new text file, paste it and save as .po Where the file should go depends on Your OS.
I like to wait for the translation, I am just interested in whether someone is currently working on it and, if so, for how long a translation into Czech can be expected. Thank you for answer. Unfortunately, I do not speak English and I use the Google translator.
If you’re waiting for it to be included in an official release, the next chance is probably release 4.0 in July, though that depends on someone actually keeping the translations up-to-date.
I am interested in whether someone is currently working on a translation into Czech for this version. No guesswork. Thank you.
Unless the translator has an account on pixls and is actively monitoring these forums, guesswork is the best you can expect.
Best is to contact whoever worked on the translation last:
And there’s not likely going to be translation updates for “this version”. Work is now being done for the next version.
Given that it was updated 10 days ago, it may be close to complete for master.
Thank you
Thank you very much for the brief instructions and pushing. I don’t know where to download that file. So I just opened the cs.po file on github and copied it to a text file. Renamed and beyond according to your procedure and finally I have Czech in darktable. Thank you once again.
