darktable 4.2.1 - export problems / how to troubleshoot ?

Hi,
i am using darktable 4.2.1 with debian 12 and so far everything works, but : i tried several times to upload files to piwigo and in the statusline it shows me uploading the number of files but they are’nt really uploaded?
What is the process: i select in export → piwigo, then entered server addr. and login credentials, select “new album” also select the base album and then confirm upload. In statusline everything seems ok, but nothing happens.
I did not find any hints in the darktable manual or the faq’s so at the momet i am confused what to do . Of course, i can export the files to disk and then login to piwigo and import them but direct export from darktable seems to be more convenient.

If you start darktable from the terminal with darktable -d all you should get some helpful output.

There used to be a few of these in DT ie for example google drive etc but I think 2-factor authentication etc etc made some of them difficult to keep working or maintain… I can’t say if this is the case for piwigo but it might also be… Hopefully some that uses it can comment if it works…

Not sure if this was related but there was an issue that had to be fixed recently …

Upload to Piwigo fails

### Describe the bug Export to Piwigo fails with generic error message "[imag…eio_storage_piwigo] could not upload to Piwigo!". After setting `piwigo_EXTRA_VERBOSE TRUE` the following server reply is logged: `server reply: {"stat":"fail","err":1003,"message":"image_id must be an positive and not null integer"}`. Help us help you! Provide some detail. Simply saying “oh that didn’t work” doesn’t move things forward.

The problem is solved.

Instead of using a piwigo user which has admin rights i have to use the user piwigoadmin, then the uploads are going well. Seems a little strange to me but anywhere it works.
