darktable 4.2.1 released

I had absolutely no hopes for getting anything done with the last version (4.2.0) due to the constant crashing every 2 minutes (I blame the Windows update). Sadly this still continues with 4.2.1 but not as frequently. I can edit around 2 to 10 minutes before it crashes again. :'S

If you want to resolve the issue, you’ll need to provide some more information, like a crash log.

You can start DT from the command line darktable.exe -d all then share the output here.

That didn’t get any reaction from command line but I have a family member who was able to give some advice. We are still figuring out how to get all the details to show but I’ll share the output here once we’ll succeed.

If you have updated or installed over a previous version you may have issues… When people have a problem I always suggest they try using a fresh set of clean config files all at the default… YOU can easily do this by running DT with the added command --configdir “path” where path is some empty folder you create. THis will run DT will fresh unmodified config files… If things run fine under these conditons then your hardware and OS likely are not an issue and its the config or upgrade path you took. If it still wonky with this approach then you may have some issues with the OS or your hardware setup…

Just wow… it seems like that one worked! \(T∇T)/
I haven’t seen this work normally since January, so I’m still a bit sceptic, but if you don’t hear from me again, life with Darktable is good once more.

I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!

Can you share the darktablerc file within the normal app path and the new path? I want to get to the bottom of what’s causing this issue.
