Darktable 4.9.0+30 not opening images unless added to library first

I am on Windows 11 using the latest weekly build. Usually I can open a downloaded image by clicking on it in the download folder and it will be added to the library and open in DT, but now I have to add the image to the library before I can get it to open. I am not sure if this is a bug in 4.9 or if my computer has the issue.

EDIT: a restart of the computer seemed to resolve the problem.

Thanks for this. I will keep testing the weekly builds of 4.9 on Windows and report any strange behaviours. It may have been a Windows issue and not a darktable issue, but who knows for sure.
