darktable developer version: no lens correction

Hello,

is it normal that the lens correction doesn’t work when I use the darktable developer version from github?

No, sounds like a bug.

which version of lensfun do you build with?

A lensfun bug.
dt simply uses whatever info the provided version of lensfun has

I installed darktable as a package from a repo: 2.3.0~git842.2fd474621-207.1

I don’t know if this matters - my package manager tells me “liblensfun0 0.3.1-4.4” and “liblensfun1 0.3.2-33.1” are installed.

which repository?
which distro?

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/darix:/darktable:/master/openSUSE_Leap_42.2/

And some more obvious questions:

  • which camera?
  • which lens?
  • does not work how?

Sony RX 100 I:
No camera is shown - can not choose a camera (clicking on the white triangle has no effect).
The settings are greyed out.

Nikon D750:
No camera is shown, shows to used lens - can not choose the camera nor the lens.
The settings are greyed out

hmm … leap doesnt ship lensfun-tools yet. so i guess we have to update the latest data in the package.

you could file a bug on https://bugs.opensuse.org/ and report the url back here.

Answer to my request (does not ship lensfun-tools):

"You mean the package included in Leap 42.2?

It does ship the tools, but they are in the lensfun-devel package for some reason.

This has been “fixed” a month ago, the tools have been split out to a separate lensfun-tools package:

So you can also install it from KDE:Extra if you prefer.

Not really a bug though IMHO, and I don’t see much sense in doing an update for Leap 42.2/3 either."
