Are you by any change using highlight brilliance in “color balance RGB”? There’s a known problem when you use more than ~20%, and that problem shows up when using highlight reconstriction in filmic with just the kind of “explosions” you see.

Humm… global brilliance 35% and highlight reconstruction enabled in filmic.

I guess that’s it.

Thank you.

Filmic producing artifacts again? - Not surprised. That’s why I stick to curves.

Nope, filmic only shows the problem, it’s produced by the brilliance setting. You may want to check out Github issue @Donatzsky linked to (but do read the whole issue, not just the first few posts…)

Don’t like filmic, then try sigmoid. Sigmoid has become my default because of the results I get out of the box. I am not criticizing filmic, but it requires more effort.
