According to the manual, the anti-aliasing diffuse or sharpen is best applied before input_color_profile in the pixel pipe.
When I setup presets after moving diffuse or sharpen AA filter before input_color_profile, it moves back above that module when I edit a new image.
Any way I can fix it?
Maybe with a style that includes the module order. Position in the pipe is not part of the preset. I don’t think you’ll notice any difference, though. Try capture sharpening in demosaic for early sharpening.

I didn’t realize that. I have just used it in the default position and never thought bout it. I presume the developers have considered where it needs to be placed for best operation. Maybe the manual needs an update? If you do notice a difference in placing it before input color profile I would be interested in knowing that. I will experiment myself and see.
I also recommend the capture sharpening n the demosaic module. I use it in synergy with the diffuse or sharpen option.

But that “best placement” can be a compromise between different uses/use cases. And there’s (currently) no way to set a position in the pixelpipe for a particuar preset.

I used to use the AA preset, but capture sharpening is vastly superior.
