I use the digikam snap on Kubuntu 20.04. It is on the candidate channel. I have been working on the snap for a bit over a year or so.
There are still some missing integration pain points with it:
- video (I want to integrate fully accelerated ffmpeg)
- “Open With”
There might be some other nags here and there, but for the year I have been using it and the requests I get from people using it, it seems to fit the use cases of the people using it.
