Hello, I just installed Digikam 8.7 Appimage. Not being a geek, I used “Gear Lever” for installation and integration into the desktop.
Once installed, I have the SchowFoto icon, but it is Digikam that launches. 
It’s not a problem as long as Digikam works.
System: Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon
