I want to use digiKam to manage all of my photos but I do not want raw photos showing up when I run face detection. I use dated folders, jpgs and raws are kept together in the dated folders. Is it possible to exclude raw photos from facial recognition?
Hi @dave180,
Unfortunately, it’s not easy to do. By default digiKam will scan all photos.
A possible work-around is to tag the jpgs but not the raws, and then filter using the tag. I know it’s not ideal, but it will work.
Cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike, thank you for the quick reply and suggestion. A good idea, I hadn’t thought of tagging only the jpgs. My goal is to make it easier for my family to find photos and I don’t want them to have to deal with the raws if they want to share images on social media for example. Tagging only the jpgs will work perfectly
