digikam move album

How to move an album in digiKam? I do it now with drag and drop. But this is quite adventurous. Can’t you cut an album and then paste it where you want? How do you do that?

I’m not completely sure, but I think you can mark the whole content of an album an choose “move” to another album.

Hello @Bonf,
that’s an interesting feature you described. But I’m still looking for a way to move an album completely, not just the contents. As I said, with drag and dorp you can do it, but if the paths are very long, because there are a lot of other albums in between, it’s not an easy job.
Cut an album and then paste it back to the desired location - that would be very desirable.

Then it’s best to post a feature request on the digikam bug tracker. Note that you will need to create an account, and be willing to reply to requests for clarification. And of course, posting a request doesn’t mean it will be implemented immediately (or at all), that’s up to the developers.

In the mean time, you can always “fake it” by creating the target album, move all images to it, and then delete the (empty) source album. It’s probably also safer than a cut&paste operation: what happens in case of a power failure (kid sees the nice red switch and presses it… has happened to me  )?

This is certainly the right suggestion from you. But I see myself quite overwhelmed. Although I already have an account with KDE, but how to make a proposal for digiKam, I do not understand yet.
