Not surprised. (I’m running Ubuntu on my MacBook Air, and haven’t actually booted OS X in months…).
At work I even had to purchase the Dell XPS13 “developer” (Linux) version just to get the upgraded hardware that wasn’t avaialbale on the windows version! Also - it’s a really nice machine. 
I know a computational astrophysics professor who models black holes. He runs Ubuntu on his desktop, but uses a Mac laptop and OS X for presentations. I caught a glimpse of his Mac terminal prompt when he was giving a presentation:
