Any suggestions for a good disk catalogue program for hard drives, DVDs and writable Blu-Rays containing image files as well as other documents? I have a large number of these and have been using primarily VVV (Virtual Volumes View) to keep track of them but it doesn’t search IPTC metadata and it is sometimes buggy. Ideally I will ultimately get all my image files catalogued with digiKam but then I still have all the other documents to catalogue.
Git-annex could be an option, it is not a catalogue but keeps your files accessible when they are spread over different media. Didn’t check if this works for RO media as well. Probably I did not get the use case.
Yes it can work for RO media, there is a WORM back end that should cater to this use case.
