Disk Reading, Volumes, and Starnet Error with Siril 1.2.0 beta 1 and 2

Courtesy novice warning

I downloaded Siril 1.2.0 beta 2 and was unable to get Starnet working. I downloaded the command lines and ran the codes on Terminal on my Mac. The issue was that Siril didn’t allow me to select the Starnet folder but individual files. I saw some other people had issues with this and used beta 1. I followed suit and it worked perfectly.

The trouble I’m having now is that beta 1 isn’t reading my hard drive properly. I have ample space on my hard drive but it’s not indicated on Siril and will not execute preprocessing. I looked for answers and people have suggested previous versions. However, to my knowledge, versions of Siril before 1.2.0 don’t have Starnet.

I tried using an external hard drive, but both versions will not allow Siril to access Volumes despite having full disk access.

Does anyone have a solution that solves all 3 issues? Or is it just a matter of time before the beta bugs get fixed? Thanks in advance.

In your system preferences, you need to grant disk access to siril. Sounds like you are locked out, which is the Mac default.

Hello, please read this, some action is needed to make it work on mac, as software not paying to get on mac is forbidden by default: StarNet Star Removal — Siril 1.2.0 documentation

Siril already has full disk access. I also made sure that the external drive has read and write access. Still not working, it says “Error, you don’t have permission to write in this directory: ‘/Volumes’” even with full disk access.

I already did that - the issue is that Siril won’t let me select the folder. When I click on the Starnet folder, it won’t let me click the “Open” button to select the folder. Switching to beta 1 solved this issue, but doesn’t show the disk space available

On the beta2 you need to select the binary. Not the folder.
