Distro Fever II

Sigh…

I have to learn to read slower, and not let my fantasy and/or hopes rush too fast. A few minutes ago, I duckduckgo’d for live distro, in order to assist a fellow forumer.

One of the results that were presented to me was Leica Distro.
Wow! I’ve never heard of that one before. Sounds like great fun, must try, &c, &c, &c.

No. It did not say Leica Distro. It said Leica Disto, which seems to be a Laser Distance Meter.

Sigh.

And if there was a free and open-source Leica distro, you still wouldn’t be able to afford it.

Everything must have a red circle like @Morgan_Hardwood’s current profile picture.

When there’s the smell of being priced out of the market, I suppose I can’t resist posting this classic.

@Morgan_Hardwood Oh baby, don’t be cruel!

If your post about me not affording a Leica is true,
then it would be the second time in my life that this
condition occurred…

Back in the 50s, Leica had ambassadors who
first took a trip down to The Amazonas to take photos
of colourful parrots, then they travelled to every town,
small or big, to lecture about their journeys. You had to
go to the local Leica dealer to get a free ticket.

Oh! Everyone in the audience longed for a Leica, but
they were economically quite out of the reach for a schoolboy.

After a few decades, I could afford one, and bought a nice,
used system – only to sell it off after three days. I could not
cope with the parallax view finder, it was too weak for my eyes.

And now, Morgan tells me that I cannot afford a modern Leica
dist[r]o. If it still has a parallax view finder, I could use that as
a rationale for not yearning for it.

Have fun!
