Does RawTherapee automatically adjust photos?

I noticed this while editing some very dark night photography images that were the product of trial and error. Upon importing them to RT I noticed a ton of noise on the photos but could not seem to revert the file back to its’ original form.

I’ve been scouring the interface trying to find a Preferences tab that shows me a ticked box, beside which the text reads something about automatically adjusting something, somewhere. It has been annoying because I can only remove so much noise with Dfine!

It’s the other way around. RawTherapee does not automatically adjust photos with the Neutral profile. Other profiles do perform some adjustment but it is unlikely it will look your out-of-camera JPG without a lot of work on your part. You can adjust noise manually if required.

@spoiledgoods hey, see these:

I didn’t write an article about “Neutral” (yet), but as the name suggests, everything is at zero.
