The “enlarge canvas” tool is a great feature for the studio photographer who needs more space so the the subject is not tightly confined. I love it!
But could we have an eyedropper tool for each side please. The solid colours are not as useful as selected colours would be. I do not have space for a cyc but an eyedropper on each side would give us that effect.

Ah, no, it’s dark table.
When v5 came out it was a dream come true for me. I shoot low key images and mostly the edges of my images are black, so giving the subject more room was easy.
But I had another shoot where the models were getting very close to the sides of my backdrop but the scene was lighter, not white, more creamy. Darktable offers r,g,b, black and white. But darktable uses “eye-droppers” for colour sampling in several modules, so, I would hope that it would be easy to introduce eye droppers top,bottom,left and right.
Welcome @algreigau. Best place to make this request is on github. Create it as a feature request and give as much information as you can about your request. You won’t usually have to wait long before you know whether it’s feasible or not.
