Hi all-- I’m using digiKam 7.1.0 on Windows 10 and find that my .psd files won’t show a preview image, although the thumbnails are visible. Instead there’s a “failed to load image” message in the preview pane. Just to be sure, I registered the .psd extension in the Mime Types menu, but it doesn’t make any difference. Most of these files were created in Photoshop CS6, although some might be from an earlier version. Can anyone point me in the right direction for fixing this?
Try opening them in another program and then save as tiff, then import to digikam. GIMP and Krita both open psd files.
Is there any way to open the preview without duplicating the files in TIFF? My understanding is that digiKam is able to handle the .psd extension.
Normally, when I see a program supporting a extension and file format and then I see that it doesn’t work, I use workaround like this. Wait for others to see what they have to say.
