@Pance Welcome to the forum. I am not sure if this is what you want. But in the open image dialog I have an ability to add favourite folders for quick access. I can later remove these favourites folders from my list. The = & - symbols are very dull and not obvious at first glance. In the screenshot I have attached you can see I made a favourite folder called Gimp samples 2021 which I can quickly locate for teaching my students.
