The conflict I had is balancing the image, I had a hard time getting everything “centred”, and I feel my edit still looks a bit lopsided.
Also, the rails and electrical boxes is the front are very hard and geometric. Compared to the soft trees and curved rails in the distance.
For me the composition works with a close crop. Zoomed out the foreground I feel is too dominating especially in portrait, eyes follow the rails to the curve and then get lost a bit. Zoom in and the eyes can follow the curve through to the trees and the approaching train.
But it could also be the Instagram effect - photos with a lot a fine details that need the viewer to work as you say, work a lot better printed large and hanging on a wall. Not so much as a thumbnail on scroll.
