Fun with the Hue slider

I shot some roll of Harman Azure lately, with my Lomo LC-A.
Apparently, there’s a quick little trick that can make Harman Switch Azure look surprisingly close to Aerochrome… so naturally, I had to try it. :eyes:

I’d seen Harold Chun (check his Instagram) playing around with the hue slider and setting it to 180°, and the results looked way too good not to give it a shot. The effect really comes alive in the foliage and sky, so when I got this roll back from the lab, I knew exactly which frame I wanted to experiment with.

The original shot was taken from Primrose Hill, London, just as the hill was filling up with people heading to the top to watch the 2026 solar eclipse. :waning_crescent_moon:

First image: the film as scanned.
Second: the same image with the hue shifted to 180° — and suddenly, those wild, Aerochrome-ish colours appear. Not Aerochrome, obviously, but a pretty fun way to push the film into a completely different world.
Third: a quick phone snapshot for comparison.

Now I’m curious: which one is your favourite — 1, 2 or 3? :eyes:

A little more experimenting with Harman Switch Azure — this time, around two very different corners of London.

The first frame is the Feng Shang Princess floating on the Regent’s Canal in Camden, and the second is Christ Church Spitalfields in Shoreditch.

Both were given the same little Hue 180° treatment I shared in my previous post. If you’re wondering how this strange transformation works, I explained the trick — and showed the original vs. shifted versions — in my last post. :eyes:

And honestly, the name Switch starts to feel rather appropriate here. :smirk: Perhaps that was the idea all along — a film that lets you switch into a completely different colour world with just a little nudge.

It’s definitely not Aerochrome, but I’m increasingly fascinated by just how far you can push this film. The unexpected purples, pinks and greens give these familiar London scenes a completely different atmosphere.

Which one do you prefer — Camden or Spitalfields? :eyes:

Definitely 2, it reminds me of Kodak Aerochrome.
