Mi sistema operativo es UBUNTU STUDIO. GIMP ha lanzado una última versión que es la 3.0.4. Cada vez que intento con esta nueva versión, mi ordenador se bloquea y ya no me deja hacer nada. Tengo que apagar e iniciar de nuevo el ordenador. Al final tengo que usar el GIMP 2.10. Para trabajar, ya que esta versión no bloquea mi ordenador. ¿Por qué sucede esto?

A look at the Ubuntu Studio site and it says it has just updated to ubuntu 24.04 The default there is Gimp 2.10.26 but ubuntu being ubuntu is liable to install a Snap of some sort.
My advice is get Gimp 3.0.4 from a PPA

If you want to try an appimage then the official Gimp 3 from gimp.org is excellent but lacking in some compiled plugins.
If you want to try this, it is a Gimp 3.0.4 appimage. Comes with gmic (QT5 version) and re synthesizer
…but it is probably the last I can manage before Gimp 3.2 comes along, so recommend using a PPA
