Bear with me this is probably a weird and confusing post and English is not my first language. Usually I’m good at finding things but in this case I didn’t find a similar issue in any search engine.
When scrolling through the bottom line gallery, timeline or sliders this works fine but when I try to scroll horizontally while editing an image it triggers zooming in/out. No matter what I try to set up in the shortcut settings, it won’t work - also not using the numpad arrow keys for left/right. I really miss the option to scroll horizontally within a zoomed-in photo while editing.
After fumbling around for a while I noticed that I can set the effect to up/down but not left/right in the shortcut settings. The shortcutsrc file shows the following when setting the numpad keys for moving the picture, seems like the horizontal commands are lacking values for direction:
KP_Left=views/darkroom/move/horizontal
KP_Up=views/darkroom/move/vertical;up
KP_Right=views/darkroom/move/horizontal
KP_Down=views/darkroom/move/vertical;down
I used the keypad arrows since the shortcut menu won’t recognize that my mousewheel is able to perform horizontal scrolling (at least not in the center image in the darkroom mode) and my knowledge of programming and reading lua is basically not existent.
Specs:
Ubuntu 24.04 (was already the case on 22.04)
darktable 5.6.0 (initially noticed it on 5.0.1)
mouse: Logitech G502 Hero (wired)
Maybe someone could point me in the right direction. Is it my stupidity or just not possible (yet)?
