Not sure what look your going for here.
EDIT: I too have withdrawn my edit as I meant no offence to the forum users. I just felt license was implied by posting the image here and under Australian law it could be edited for educational purposes without infringing upon copyright. Please do post a license in the future.

Hi Doug,
Iâm trying out NEF files in Darktable for the first time and wanted to get your expert perspective on the modules going to be used and how I can improve. This image was captured by me, so there are no licensing concerns. Hope this helps.

I am not a moderator here, but I understand that attaching a license is the proper thing to do for PlayRaw.
But I see others are already sending edits, so Iâll refrain from commenting further.

Folks editing images that you donât have the right to is wrong. It is clear that some folks canât constraint themselves.
OP: please provide a license that allows for folks to process your image.

You will find that the best results from DT will come after some experimentation and from that maybe a style that you will land onâŚ
The defaults are not too bad but still DT doesnât process your image as heavily as some other software, leaving those decisions to youâŚ
THere are some very very generic styles for many cameraâs including yoursâŚ
You can try it âŚit does use filmic as the tone mapper and many people will now use agx or sigmoidâŚ
I tried your image and using nothing but that default style and a default preset of the tone equalizer called relight did seem to give a decent starting pointâŚ

@dkmarjun : please check tutorials (text, YouTube), the manual, darktable.info, @Donatzsky 's starter guide if you want to learn how to start. Throwing in an image like this is quite rude to the others, to be honest.

If you have specific questions like âhow do I deal with highlights / skin tones / noise / colour cast⌠in this imageâ, this topic is the best place. You posted a huge image, and no question or what you wanted to achieve. What you added later sounds like asking for a general tutorial, of which there are many. Iâm sorry I reacted in a harsh way. I hope youâll find at least something useful among the links.

The original poster explicitly requested we âhelp process thisâ. So I think you are trying to defend forum policy and custom, not an actual rights issue.

It might help to post your own edit so we can see what you want to improve. Please just add a license as well as per forum policy.

We ask for @dkmarjun to attach a license to the file explicitly, that way the original poster knows explicitly that theyâre providing a license and are not surprised by it later.
Technically speaking, all user contributions are already CC licensed when theyâre posted here (per Terms of Service - discuss.pixls.us) and you should only be posting things that you have license to (per FAQ - discuss.pixls.us).
There is no implied license here.
