I’m able to hide the scrollbars in the central view, but not in the side panel? is there an hidden setting or is a missing feature?
I don’t think so. You might try the option to scroll sidebar instead of module values.
I do, and it works but the scrollbar is still visible.
I think it is part of the design, and there whether one likes it or not.
It is useful. I use the mentioned mouse-wheel scrolls sidebar all the time, but one can have accidents.
Disclosure: I am a scroll-bar man, and I use them for the picture itself, both as a visual clue to whether I am scrolled or not, and to move the image. I do not use the little navigation pic in the left-hand side bar. In fact I disappear the whole left side bar except when I need it. I prefer largest-possible image.
no, it’s intentional.
If you scroll while having an module expanded and a slider active then you might change settings. Having a scrollbar indicates where to place your mouse to scroll to a different module in a safe way without need to collapse modules first …
Thanks for confirming.
I understand the usability issue, but it is not clear.
In the miscellanous setting, for example — generic and related to the UI — if “always show panel’s scrollbar” is disabled, it should be consistent and remove them everywhere.
I may be mistaken, but I interpret “panels” as “side panels” because “central view” is specified in the other settings.
In fact, the user has the option to granularly disable those in the central view in the lighttable:
And for the darkroom:
For this reason, I expected those on the side panels to be hidden as well.
In my case, I don’t use the scroll bar to set the sliders, and I prefer to use the mouse wheel to scroll through the modules in the panels without worrying about changing the settings.
Since this is a preference I have consciously set, I find the scrollbar information redundant and was convinced I could disable it from those settings.
This way, I save a few pixels and the UI remains cleaner ![]()
